The Melville Advance is the community newspaper of Melville and surrounding area. With a readership of over 6,750 people a week, the Advance has been delivering the news weekly since 1929.

The Melville Advance is owned and operated by Grasslands News Group, the parent company of community newspapers that are located in southeast Saskatchewan. Based out of Melville, Saskatchewan, Grasslands News Group publishes the Melville Advance, Whitewood Herald and Fort Qu'Appelle Times. Together, these three paid circulation papers reach more than 12,000 readers every week.

The Advance is a member of the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association (SWNA), Newspapers Canada, and AdWest.

Along with publishing the newspaper, the Melville Advance also provides commercial printing services for a large variety of jobs, including business cards, flyers, posters, brochures, booklets, tickets, carbonless forms, coroplast signs, banners, letterheads, envelopes and much more. They are also a Supreme Basics dealer for office supplies and stationery.
